"Pretty boring, slow and uninteresting"

The animation and art style seemed fine but the actual content is bad. I suppose you could've made the joke work if you did it well, but the way it is now it just doesn't.

If you really wanted to fix this flash up you could start by speeding it up and adding some sort of background music. A bit of colour wouldn't hurt either unless that was the style you were going for.

"A simple short joke"

It was a short joke but I think you took too long to set it up.

Watching all the cute animals was kinda boring and after about the 4th I was wondering if this was going anywhere and was kind of wishing it would hurry up and get to the point.

The giraffe looked awesome when it was doing its thing but most everything else in the flash was kinda dull looking (which made the set up feel longer).
Sounds were good though.

Just speed it up (shorten the black spacing between animals) and it will be heaps better.

You've done it again! An utter masterpiece!

Where do you get your ideas from? My only problem with this flash is that it was so short compared to the last one.

If only you could make this movie long enough to last forever or better yet, make it a loop so that I NEVER have to stop watching it. I will most definitely be watching this movie long after my computer has turned to dust and my physical body has whithered and died.

This flash really is THAT GOOD!

Unbelieveable!

You have come out of no where and single handedly put every member of this site to shame.

It has everything that you could ever want from a movie. I don't think I'll ever have to watch anything else ever again for the rest of my life and if I do ever watch another movie, no matter what it is, it will be so painfully bad in comparison that I will most likely turn it off as soon as it starts.

This movie really is that good.

If it's your sort of music go for it.

Unfortunately it wasn't my sort of music so automatically I didn't like this flash very much.
It's a good thing you posted the lyrics because otherwise I'd have no idea what the singer was saying.

The animation itself was pretty good though you might have overused some of the clips. Having a variety of clips floating around behind Mario would have been much better instead of the same two each time.

There were too many "Mario singing" parts anyway. You should have made more of the flash like the first part where Mario was kind of doing what the song was saying. That part worked well plus you had a nice variety of faded images floating around.

I would've liked to have seen Luigi and Yoshi step out of the shadows at some time during their guitar solos. That probably would've reduced the whole "floating hands" effect you had going.

As for sound I think it stayed pretty well in sync while I was watching and my computer is terrible but it played fine on high quality.

I suppose if you're into this sort of music and also Mario it's a good flash.

"A good flash for when you're bored"

I had trouble getting into the flash to begin with. Even though it was loaded the main menu didn't show up. I think I reopened the window twice before it decided to work. I've got no idea what the problem was.
Your main menu looked dull. It needs a background like your scene select had. Scene select menu was really good by the way. That skip to percent thing was something I've never seen before.

Anyway I should talk about the movie...
The start begins rather boring with Luigi finding a mysterious machine but it's only quick and there's a lot of nice camera movement to keep a viewer's attention.

The next scene with Donkey Kong was also boring and also slow with little movement but I understand you needed that part for story development. I think you were using the character's sounds to fill in the gap and make the scene more interesting but it really needed movement. Donkey Kong's stand cycle was close but having the character's jump or something when they say an important line would really make the scene easier to watch.

Link's scenes were the best. I actually laughed a bit when the ship was on Link's dad. One thing I have to congratulate you on is the "many hours later" part. I'm so glad you decided to pan over to it instead of the "blank screen with text" approach. Little things like that really help the quality of your flash.

The animation on Luigi's word bubbles was nice. It was odd having to click on his bubbles though and not having to click on Donkey's which were automatic. I really don't know why you did it that way. I would suggest taking out the flashing arrow as idiots like me think they have to click on the arrow every time instead of just the bubble which is much easier. Last bit about text bubbles, be careful with what colours you use, the purple on black was getting a little hard to read.
Also take out the custom cursor. Normal cursors are so much easier and work better.

Animation and sound were fine. They weren't special (sprites never are) mostly you sticking to what the actual games are like with in-game sounds and sprites. I suppose there's nothing wrong with that it's just nothing new is all.

All up it was a good flash for when you're bored.

It was alright but not great.

Most of it was just yoshi running into stuff then blood (or a red blob) appearing or yoshi would explode. And when yoshi wasn't being killed it was just random. (What was the whole smiley face thing with the coins about?)

Sorry but I just couldn't find those things funny. I've seen the same type of humor in a lot of other flashes so that could be why.

I think the main problem with this flash is the menu. Having to press play inbetween each scene really slows down the action and I think something like this flash needs to happen really quick like level 11. Like BAM! *yoshi dead* BOOM! *yoshi dead* SPLAT! *yoshi dead*

The other problem is the amount of unnecessary buttons and the switch between credits and movie. (I got stuck there until I went back to read your comments which I admit I should've done in the first place). If you just put the credits in line after the last sketch it would be so much simpler.

Animation and sound/music were acceptable. Nothing WOW but enough to get the jokes across.

All in all some people new to sprites might like it but it was just alright and not great.

Bomber109 responds:

1st Paragraph: I agree, it's pretty monotonous, but I hardly ever do this sort of humor.

2nd: That's exactly why I made this. This sort of humor seems to be relatively popular with several groups of people, and I hadn't ever really made something like this, so, I decided to try.

3rd: I agree, but otherwise, sound sync is messed up. I've had the problem before, and my solution of choice is to code every single sound in.

4th: Yes, you always should read my comments. The way this flash is built doesn't really allow that, but I sorta like having it loop.

Great to see some new pikmin parodies!

It was really good. The animation was great. The characters looked great (very close to what the characters look like in the game) and the joke was a complete surprise.

I really enjoyed the montage with the pikmin army growing. That was a very nice touch and as for the music, though I'm not a fan of Hanson I think it was very appropriate and matched up well to the flash.

This was a really enjoyable flash.

Clock day submission

It's a clock day submission. A B here a few clocks there and a seizure-riffic background and you're done.

As far as clock day submissions go this one is very average. Nothing special at all.

1/10

(and yes I only reviewed this because you had no reviews here)

aquaticmole responds:

Yup. That just about sxplains clock day submissions from anyone outside of the Clock crew. Next year i'll try to make a better flash. This was done on Clock day just for the hell of it.

Thanks for reviewing (my other comment was deleted due to do a person who doesn't know how to review. ) Because without this one and the one above my flash page would be dull.

congrats

I can't imagine the 400,000th submission any other way....

Muffin responds:

i imagined it to be less gay but whatever
