The 15th of January will mark 3 years of me working with flash and I'm still yet to win an award or have any of my flash showcased in a collection. In fact only two of my submissions have become permanent features on Newgrounds (Well they've lost their remove buttons anyway).
The first one being How Fights Start though that is kind of undeserving since it is only un-removable because I tricked a bunch of people over at videogamedc.com into watching my flash. This was a couple years ago when VGDC was holding a competition where they gave you some raw materials and you made a flash about the game "yoshi's island". (I did make a real submission for that competition which can still be viewed here on Newgrounds). What I made was a stick animation (exactly what you see here on Newgrounds) with the compulsory yoshi related opening sequence.
It really pissed off Randy Solem (An achievement I'm rather proud of) and he expressed this anger though a post which he replaced the post containing the link to my flash. I think because he did that people started seeking my flash out and now it has around 4000 views. The most views of all of my flashes.
My second un-removeable flash is Thinking up Flash which currently has an unbelievable score of 4.2/5. If it's score were to rise 0.6 it would be in the top 50! (Though hopefully that won't happen because it really isn't that good). The reason it has this crazy score is because Rig thought it was worthy of being posted in the Treasure Hunt '07 thread.
I was later told somebody else added another of my flashes to the thread though nothing happened (probably because this was the flash they posted)
So three years of work has brought forth 20 flashes from me (though about half of them are basically spam and we're not counting anything that was blammed). Hopefully now that I have a tablet, soon a new computer (1GHZ IS NOT ENUFF!!) and three years of experience in flash, 2008 will be the year I finally make something that is really worth watching!
And if I don't perhaps I'll be able to make something that pisses off another major internet celebrity.
